We at Super Way Export have compiled the following list to help you understand what can and cannot be shipped from Nepal under Nepalese law.

Please keep in mind that this is what the Nepalese government allows and does not allow. Import laws in your country may differ. 1. Items of Archaeological and Religious Importance:
These are items of religious significance. Because archaeology, religion, and their practices differ from country to country, the export of these items is prohibited in Nepal. These items of archaeological and religious significance are:

    • National and foreign coins, as well as archaeological value
    • God and goddess statues,
    • Inscription on a palm leaf (Tad Patra),
    • Inscription on a plant leaf (Bhoj Patra)
    • Scrolls (Thanka paintings) with historical significance

2. Raw Materials / Industrial:

    • Skin and raw materials (including dry salted).
    • All imported raw materials, components, and capital goods. Marijuana, opium, and hashish are examples of narcotics (as defined in the Single Convention of Narcotics, 1961)

3. Drugs:

Drugs are chemicals that, when taken without a doctor’s prescription, can have negative effects on the body. Different drugs, such as marijuana, opium, hashish, and others defined in the Single Convention on Narcotics, 1961, are prohibited from being exported from Nepal.

Imports and Exports of drugs are strictly monitored and is a serious crime if found guilty. 

4. Explosives and fuse materials, as well as any other materials required. Materials used in the manufacture of firearms and ammunition.

5. Wildlife conservation:

Different types of wildlife are now classified as endangered species. There is a rule that prohibits shipping of wildlife and related articles. Here are some articles about wildlife conservation in Nepal.

    • Animals in the wild
    • Bile and any wild animal part
    • Musk
    • The skin of various animals, such as snakes and lizards

7. Counterfeit Goods:

Counterfeit goods and items are those that are made in exact imitation of something valuable with the intent to deceive or defraud. In other words, well-known and globally recognized brands such as Nike, Adidas, The North Face, and others cannot be exported to the majority of countries due to counterfeiting. If such items are discovered, the entire shipment can be sized during inspection in the respective countries’ import departments.
